Ivan: Actually, "related activities" aren't so much beyond the scope of analysis as beyond the scope of actual metrics. I will certainly be discussing them within the book (and did, to a lesser extent, for the 2007-2008 project). My own sense is that FriendFeed, Facebook and Twitter have had more effect in the last year or so on commenting, but probably some (mild) continued effect on posting frequency. But I won't even attempt to prove that sense; it's way beyond my abilities or patience.

"Once a week" pretty much sums up my posting frequency, at least for my library-related blog. Though if I included micro-blogging (Twitter) and my various updates on Facebook and other personal blogs, my posting frequency might be the same overall (depth of writing and analysis not withstanding). But I understand all that's beyond the scope of your analysis. So "once a week" is quite accurate in my case.
