Change, leadership, planning and more at PLN
What’s new at the PALINET Leadership Network, PLN?
- You’ll find another newspaper column, from the New Orleans Public Library, and encouraging notes on doing such columns in Newspaper columns and blogs.
- Qualities of successful leaders now includes half a dozen more commentaries.
- There’s another commentary in Coping with change in libraries.
- Managing change is a major new compilation of commentaries on change from outside the library field, incorporating the old Change notes and more than half a dozen others.
- The LLN Peer Panel continues their discussion of strategic planning in Strategic planning–measurement.
- Jamie LaRue tells us (and the people of Douglas County) that Libraries build brains and community.
We continue to add new material, combine shorter pieces in ways that make sense for you–and look for ways to build PLN as a key resource for library leaders. Let me know what you need and what you can do better–either in feedback at PLN itself or by mail (crawford at palinet.org or waltcrawford at gmail.com).
Next Monday and Tuesday, it’s the PALINET08 Conference + Vendor Fair. Expect a new post the first week of November.
That’s this week’s post from PLN Highlights, always your best way to keep up with the PALINET Leadership Network, your free, open library leadership resource.
