I believe that, particularly if you’re doing layout as well. That kind of reference book probably adds a substantial layer of complexity to an “ordinary” book.

Half a book manuscript for a reader’s advisory book on fantasy authors. I am never doing a reference book EVER AGAIN. Too many fiddly little details.

I’ve always sort of assumed that anyone who writes complete books probably reads them as well…and the number of current books by libloggers pretty much puts the lie to that particular nonsense.

My order is on its way. It’s going to have to stand in line, because I have another book review and half a book manuscript due by the end of the month, but I’ll get to it.

M-ch–l G-rm-n would be shocked. I intend to read it all the way through, and evaluate it as a whole. O’ course, I’m just one of the blog people. M-ch–l G-rm-n doesn’t think I can actually DO that.

My apologies for the typo in the other comments thread- and indeed for using that thread prematurely.

I expect to get the book some time in April, so I’ll be back then. Though as an initial comment, it’s the ideas in chaps 3 and 15 that led me to buy the book. I want to wish you well in this venture.

Thanks both. I think it’s a good read, but I’m biased. (Actually, I just can’t read it again for at least two or three months–it all seems awfully familiar at this point. One problem with rapid publishing…)

Heck, I’m also proud of expanding my limited HTML/CSS/editing skills just enough to get the book cover into the footer on every page of this blog! I tried for the banner, but I’m not clever enough for that–and this is a little more subtle.
