Living in the mid-atlantic like I do, there's just NEVER decent fruit in the grocery store. Maybe bananas (they're hard to mess up). I think stone fruit should have to be eaten over the sink with juice dribbling down your chin -- that's the way the fruit used to come off my parent's trees and the pick your own trees in New Jersey. Last bunch of peaches I bought I threw out -- still hard as a rock, but rotten -- how is that physically possible? This aprium thing sounds good.... hmmm.

I'm fond of pluots, nectarines, tangelos, and other fruit marriages. I also like pear-apples. I'm still waiting for someone to cross-breed the persimmon and the pomegranate. (Er, not with each other.)
